Holiday Shipping Deadlines

With Thanksgiving just around the corner and many people already getting a jump start on their holiday shopping I thought I would take this opportunity to give you some shipping information on when to order from us so that you receive your packages before December 25th (or any other date you may need them). We are located in central Illinois.

Shipping by the United States Postal Service:
Takes 2-3 days regardless of First Class or Priority Shipping (First Class shipping is only for packages lighter than 13oz).

Shipping by UPS
Ground shipping can take 1-5 business days. Please see map below for your location.

We would recommend ordering as soon as possible to guarantee your package arrives on time and that we have the merchandise in stock. Our orders typically go out the same day or next day unless we are out of stock of a particular item.

If you need your package by a certain date, please contact us to make sure we have the item in stock and that it will arrive on time.

I had a rude awakening this morning with the snow falling softly outside my window. We're in the Holiday Season and it snuck up on me again this year. To gear myself up for Thanksgiving I thought on Fridays I would share what I'm thankful for. Today I'm thankful for my husband and my kids. Although my kids don't live with me anymore, I am thankful to get to see them on a regular basis since all three of my girls live close by.

A Twist On The Traditional Trick-or-treat Favor Bags

Last time I did a Halloween trick-or-treat favor bag was back in 2012. I used newspapers to create the bag and decorated them with Halloween stamps. This DIY is maybe even simpler with most (if not all) of the supplies already in your home. 

Things you need: Plastic Easter eggs in shades of orange for the "pumpkins", permanent markers, and lots and lots of candy!

Start by drawing different "jack-o-lantern" faces on the front sides of the plastic eggs (hinges to the back) with permanent markers. If you're having trouble coming up with different faces try searching jack-o-lanterns online. Next let them sit to dry for a few minuets so that the faces don't smear. 

And last but certainly not least stuff the eggs full with your favorite candies to give to your kids, grandkids, or to toss into trick-or-treaters bags for Halloween. So easy, right?

The crackers are used to crack open the hard outer shell and the picks are used to remove slices of meat from the small nooks and crannies. Each pick has a fork end and a scoop end to help remove the small slices of meat.

Root Beer Float Party

Last Friday my grandkids had the day off from school so I decided to invite them over for a Root Beer Float Party! I had promised them root beer floats this summer (when they worked as interns) but it was something we never got around to doing. Now that things have started to settle back into routines now seemed like the perfect time to enjoy a yummy treat with a few of my favorite kids. 

The Set Up: 

- I always keep fun paper straws around (these ones had black mustaches on them). 

- I picked up these large glass mugs recently at the Dollar Tree and placed them in the freezer about an hour or so before we needed them. 

- Our #100 white paper soda hats for fun retro feel. 

- And last but not least Root Beer and vanilla ice cream.
