Friday Inspiration: Set Clear Written Goals

"People with clear, written goals, accomplish far more in a shorter period of time than people without them could ever imagine."
-Brian Tracy

Don't forget how important it is to not only set goals but to write your goals down, and after you reach your goal set another one and another one. Make this a habit through out the year and for the rest of your life. You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish.

Bookshelf Organization

I've always enjoyed decorating and changing up my bookshelf but with some helpful tips/images I think I've found the most appealing look as of yet. Some of my favorite tips are organizing books by color, adding picture frames, and candles.

Friday Inspiration: Dream a New Dream

"You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream."
-C.S. Lewis

Each new day is a gift that can be used to live out your dreams, or to dream a new dream by setting a new goal no matter your age.

Holiday Storage Solutions

Martha Stewart: To store your Christmas lights, wind each strand around a piece of cardboard cut to fit inside a clear storage bin. You'll never have to un-tangle a string of lights again!

As I begin to clear away the Christmas decorations I started looking for better ways to organize my growing collection of lights, wreaths, wrapping paper, trees, etc. Here are a few of my favorite tips that I have come across online.
Wrapping paper storage
{Wrapping paper storage using a metal laundry bin. Other ideas for a similar look: repurposing a popcorn tin, crate, or umbrella stand/tall vase.}

Friday Inspiration: Live out Dreams

Holiday Vacation

A few images from our recent trip to TN after Christmas. We stayed in a beautiful hotel with lots of twinkling lights, Christmas trees, restaurants, and even enjoyed a boat ride inside the hotel. A wonderful and relaxing way to end the holiday season.

Friday Inspiration: Set Goals

"If you aim at nothing, you will hit it every time."
- Zig Ziglar

This is one of my favorite quotes and a great reminder to set goals. New Year's resolutions often get a bad rap because the majority of them get broken (35% are broken by the end of Jan.) within a few months. To keep that from happening in my own life I call them goals, write them down, and I set my own time limits. I have set some larger goals in my life that have taken me over a year to complete but that doesn't mean I failed but I'm now that much closer to finishing. I think the real failure is never trying.

While listening to the radio I happened to hear four things to keep in mind while making goals.
They should be:
Specific and Measurable
Your Goal (not what someone else wants you to do)
Set a time Limit
Write it Down

Nature Display

As I begin to clear away some of my Christmas decorations (not including winter scented candles, throws, and white lights displayed above shelves and wardrobes) I still wanted my home to feel cozy and inviting but also fresh since winter won't be over for some time here in the Midwest. This clear glass vase seemed like the perfect way to bring some fresh life into our home.

Creating a similar display is as simple as collecting nature items found in your back yard, or while on a walk, and then displaying them in one or a series of clear glass vases. I collected twigs and snipped a few branches off an evergreen to create my display that is now adding new life to my bookshelf.
