Product Feature: Deli Tray Covers

Recently I've been using our #CW-6L (latex free) deli tray covers quite frequently. They work great for parties especially those outdoors to keep bugs off the food while still showing off what's inside. They're sturdy enough for several uses but also cheap enough to use once and throw (or give) away. We sell them in packs of 10 or 100 and when completely stretched they reach 30".

Last week I made a rhubarb pie to take to my parents and covered it with one of our deli tray covers and it worked perfectly.

How to Get Facebook Notifications

I thought I would talk for just a moment about our Facebook page. Not too long ago Facebook has changed how you receive updates from your favorite sites. They no longer appear in your news feed unless you request them to be there or the business pays a fee to Facebook to show them to their followers.

A way to still receive notifications from our site and/or your other favorites is to go to their Facebook page click on the button Liked and a drop down menu will appear. The first option is Get Notifications. If you check this box every time that business posts something on their Facebook page you will receive a notification. Just like when you receive notifications when someone has commented on a picture of yours, wrote on your wall, or liked something you've posted.

The second way to get notifications is to click on the Add to Interest Lists. This will then ask you to create a title for your list (or you can make several lists) and the list it will appear off to the left of your Facebook home page. Now they will appear in your News Feed or you can click on the Interest Lists you've made and see what your favorite business has been up to.

Friday Inspiration

Last week I posted a quote by Dr. Seuss so when I saw this on Pinterest I thought why not follow that up with a quote by Walt Disney? We've had a hard/long week around here to where it felt like Friday should have come a few days ago. But we did the best we could so why worry about it? This quote will be at the forefront of my mind as I relax and enjoy the weekend.

Homemade Strawberry Preserves

I was flipping through some of my older magazines (as I seem to do a lot) and I came across a recipe for strawberry preserves. Perfect timing since I recently bought several cartons from the grocery store on sale for a $1 a piece. The process was relatively easy especially with my new eager assistant.

Ingredients
3 containers (16oz each) strawberries hulled and sliced
3/4 cup of sugar
2 Tbsp of lemon juice

Instructions
1. Place all ingredients in a 5-qt saucepan. Bring to a boil over medium high heat. Reduce heat to medium-low and simmer, uncovered, 45 minuets, stirring frequently to make sure mixture doesn't burn.

2. Store in an air tight container in refrigerator for up to one month. Makes about 4 cups.

Friday Inspiration

I've always had a fondness for Dr. Seuss but this quote is new to me. I came across it online this past week so I thought I would share. Something to think about. Have a great weekend!

Summer Interns

{My grandkids Cohen and Alexa}

Schools out this year for my grandkids (they finished last Tuesday). So I thought why not let them help out as our summer interns? As a way for them to learn the family business and spend a little more time with their grandma. They've done small projects for me in the past like print off inserts for packages and find the products in the warehouse. But this summer I'm hoping to build on that knowledge with a few harder tasks and maybe some craft projects for the blog. When their not busy with friends, camps, or time at home they will be here working side by side with me. Intern is usually an unpaid position but they will be rewarded by trips to get ice-cream (or frozen yogurt), a pool day, fun activities like put-put, bowling, and paint your own pottery to name a few.

Friday Inspiration

I came across this quote recently in a magazine I had kept. I decided to rip it out and save it for a future post. I just love going through (old or new) magazines for inspiration. I find it hard to get rid of them so I usually find myself ripping out pages that I wanted to keep and saving them in binders. Does anyone else do that too?

Anyway this past week has been supper busy but I'm not complaining! Thanks for your overwhelming support on our new products, and let us know if there is any way we can serve you better.

Have a great weekend.

Keep

Have you heard about this new site called Keep? It works just like Pinterest but every thing you "Keep" or Pin is linked to a sight where you can buy it. Only things that can be bought can be "Kept".  The site also lets you know when something you have "Kept" goes down in price. Perfect for creating boards for wish lists for Christmas, birthdays, parties, renovations, decorating projects, wardrobes, etc. You can check it out here @ keep.com.

It's a fun new site that I happened to stumble on. I love Pinterest and wondered what the point of joining this site too was, but I signed up anyway, and I'm thoroughly enjoying it. As of right now I currently don't know anyone on Keep so if you sign up let me know and I would love to follow you. You can find my Keep account here.
