Friday Inspiration: Eat Outside

{Ducks at a local park. They would swim to the other side of the lake when we got too close}

I have found that eating dinner outside is a relaxing/fun way to end the day. There is something about warmer weather that makes me want to be outside as much as possible and somehow food tastes better wile relaxing outside.So far I have been to a few local parks or dined at restraunts that offer outdoor seating. Despite a little bit of wind the weather was otherwise perfect.

Blueberry Crumb Bars

Now that summer's here I find myself using lots of fresh fruits in my baking. With a recent trip to the grocery store I came home with lots of fresh blueberries with this recipe in mind for them. I've only made them once before but it was such a hit I was getting requests to make them again. If you decide to make these for an outdoor BBQ/4th of July party, or any party for that matter, I recommend precutting (they crumble and fall apart easily) the bars and wrapping them in wax paper tied with bakers twine for a cute and easy to serve display.

Friday Inspiration: June Roses

{My rose bush in bloom}

"On this June day the buds in my garden are almost as enchanting as the open flowers. Things in bud bring, in the heat of a June noontide, the recollection of the loveliest days of the year – those days of May when all is suggested, nothing yet fulfilled."
