Friday Inspiration: Take Time for Yourself

This week certainly flew by for me being gone half the week in KY. It was fun but I'm happy to be home. The last few days have been extra busy catching up, but I'm thankful to have another weekend this time it will be spent relaxing in my own home.

I hope everyone had a good Memorial Day weekend, it's so hard to believe the weekend is already upon us again.

This Memorial Day weekend my husband, parents, and I are in KY visiting the home town where my mother grew up. We have done this for the past several years as it's a great time to visit old friends and also decorate her brother's grave. My uncle sadly lost his life over Pearl Harbor serving our country during WWII.

Wednesday night my husband and I saw the sky light up in a way we've never seen before. Flashes of light back and forth across the night sky that mimicked that of a light show. It was eery watching the sky light up in complete silence. I was able to snap these photos before the storm rolled away.

Saturday Night Live Patio Party

 

Over a year ago (February 2012) our crab bibs were featured on a Saturday Night live skit called Patio Party. The skit is posted on my facebook page but thought I would share it with all my blog readers. You can view it here.  One of the production managers called me from the show on a Thursday and wanted the bibs delivered on Friday. I asked what they were using them for and he said we are using them in a skit on Saturday Night Live and for me to be sure and watch.

We also sell wooden mallets like the ones in the image on the table plus picks, crackers, oyster knives, and paper placemats. All of those items and more can be viewed on our accessories page.

Friday Inspiration: Dream Job

This speaks to my entrepreneurial heart. For as long as I can remember I've had a passion and drive to work for myself. It's a lot of work but I wouldn't have it any other way. Also I'm happy to announce that my middle daughter has that same entrepreneurial heart and drive as I do and she has joined our team back in the fall. She has a natural gift for photography and has been busy updating the images on our sites. 

For those of you who don't feel the same, I hope you have the good fortune to work doing something you love with a leader who feels the same.
